Why do we do it
Since 1974, a group of young men
learned that White Water Canoeing was a weekend adventure that has turned into
a lifetime memory. At first, canoeing
was the main reason, but after 36 years, we have experienced memorable moments
that we cherish for life. Throughout the
years, over 124 men have experienced the fellowship by gathering around a
campfire, telling stories and relieving the stress we experience throughout the
year. But only a few survive and come back for
more.
We have very few rules. Enjoy yourself while “partaking” in the
fellowship of the “friendliest drunks” around a single campfire because “Fun ain’t worth a Damn unless you’re having it.” It is even more fun when we do it as a
group. Just remember the saying from a
wise old man “White
Water on the Rocks can do crazy things to a man”. Don’t be offended when others are
drowning. At the same time, try to keep
your head above water.
Anyone can go canoeing, but it
takes a little more of an effort in becoming a part of group like the Red
River Rapid Riders.
